Develop Your Professional AI Use  empowers professionals to become more advanced AI collaborators and advocates for ethical AI use in their organisations and society. Divided into three bite-sized learning modules, it covers a variety of topics including: 

• The inner workings of AI

• The expanded AI literacy framework 

• Learning methods to improve AI literacy

• Ethical considerations surrounding AI and its use in organisations and society

Develop Your Professional AI Use explores the inner workings of AI, the AI literacy framework, and the impact of AI at the organisational and societal levels. This course highlights the need to develop a plan to stay informed of AI advancements, and to formulate goals to become the AI advocate and expert in your organisation.

This course consists of the following three modules:

1. AI’s Inner Workings

2. Advancing AI Literacy

3. Societal Ethics in AI

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

✓ Analyse and apply an AI Literacy Framework at the organisational level within a university context.

✓ Identify ethical considerations for using AI at the organisational and societal level.

✓ Explore learning methods to improve AI literacy.

✓ Create a professional learning plan to stay informed on the most recent and emerging AI technology relevant to a learner’s context.

This course is relevant for professionals who want to increase their AI literacy and become more valuable and competitive in the workplace by embracing and collaborating with AI to increase efficiency and productivity.

All courses are led by an expert instructor and filled with compelling examples of real employment materials, interactive exercises, and opportunities for reflection. For this reason, we recommend you use a laptop or tablet if possible.

Dr. Marc Pinski 

Dr. Marc Pinski is a researcher and consultant with experience in artificial intelligence and business strategy. Currently, he is a researcher at the Technical University of Darmstadt. He has collaborated in and organised different working groups on "AI & Finance – Innovation, Resilience, and Responsibility" and "Responsible Algorithmic Decision-Making in the Workplace" at the Center for Responsible Digitalization (ZEVEDI).

His research centers on AI Literacy, including conceptualization, measurement, empowerment, and its impacts on individuals and organisations. His work has been published in journals such as "MIT Sloan Management Review," "Electronic Markets," "Computers in Human Behavior: Artificial Humans," and "Computers and Education Open," and presented at conferences like the "International Conference on Information Systems," "Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems," and "Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences."

Dr. Pinski holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the Technical University of Darmstadt, a Master of Science in Management and Strategy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Freie Universität Berlin.
 

Professional AI Use in Higher Education is a three-course programme that supports professionals as they navigate becoming effective AI collaborators. From learning basic definitions of AI to creating goals to become the AI subject matter expert in the office, this programme supports professionals in university settings and beyond in:

• understanding and increasing AI literacy,

• incorporating AI into daily tasks,

• recognising the impact of AI at the organisational and societal levels,

• developing ethical standards for AI use,

• and creating plans to continue AI learning.

Professional AI Use in Higher Education currently includes the following courses:
