Organising the logistics of a scientific conference requires thorough planning, lots of collaboration, and clear communications. This workshop will guide you through all aspects of delivering a conference, with a focus on creating a valuable overall experience for your attendees. The workshop will offer practical insights and checklists designed to help academics and professionals who don’t regularly organise events.

Lisette van Kessel, Head of Marketing and Events at Knowledge E, is an experienced event manager with a proven track record of organising and managing large-scale professional and scientific conferences. Drawing on her experience in organising, planning, and attending numerous events and conferences, Lisette will take you through all phases of planning and provide examples on how to maximise the impact of your conference for your attendees, considering every phase of the event.

Her extensive track record includes delivering multi-day events with VIP guests, such as the International Pure Conference in Portugal and Croatia, and the Forum for Open Research in MENA, as well as managing grand corporate events for over 600 people. Lisette’s expertise is deeply rooted in event strategy and execution. She brings valuable insights into both global academic events and complex event logistics.
