Generating Research Impact

Prepare your researchers to succeed by showcasing the real-world impact of their research.

Intro

Generating Research Impact is a three-course programme that guides researchers through the process of preparing, monitoring and communicating their research in terms of tangible and measurable societal benefit beyond the walls of academia.

From evaluating bibliometric indicators and applying ethical visibility strategies to communicating how research can affect everyday life, the programme provides a comprehensive roadmap to support researchers in moving beyond academic outputs to documenting the real-world impact of their research.

The programme supports researchers in:

  • interpreting researcher-level metrics and altmetrics for increased visibility

  • developing a personal research visibility plan

  • recognising the diversity of potential pathways to impact

  • identifying and articulating their institution’s long-term impact goals

  • setting personal KPIs to align with institutional impact strategies

  • writing a narrative impact statement to highlight the measurable societal benefit of their research
